Requirements and Nature of Work:

The research assistant will contribute to an in-depth literature review on the socio-economic characteristics of indigenous populations in Central Africa, and of targeted communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo in particular.

This work is part of a research project on the collective rights of Indigenous Peoples in Central Africa to their natural resources, and on the protection of their traditional knowledge associated with genetic resources.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to conduct independent research
  • Excellent writing skills in English and/or French
  • Knowledge of the socio-economic situation of indigenous peoples in the Democratic Republic of Congo will be considered an asset
