Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: Under limited supervision or independently, the Cultural Resources Technician performs specialized or technical activities in the area of cultural resources investigation and/or curation. This position may be responsible for acting as a work leader or crew chief over other cultural resources support personnel in the field or laboratory.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and four years progressively responsible cultural resources research and/or curation experience or a bachelor’s degree and two years progressively responsible cultural resources research and/or curation experience. Experience acting as a work leader or crew chief over cultural resources support personnel. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Demonstrated ability for bring projects to a timely conclusion. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Technical expertise in one or more archaeological specializations employed by the Office of Archaeological Research., e.g. Lithic analysis, Ceramic analysis, Faunal Identification, etc.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
