The Graphic Design Programme at Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Art is looking to recruit a dynamic and ambitious academic researcher and/or practitioner to take on the role of Creative Producer/Senior Lecturer on the MA Global Collaborative Design Practice, a dual award Course. The post holder will contribute to the School of Design’s commitment to Social Design and belief that Design can make a substantial and positive contribution to the development of society through engagement with sectors beyond the creative industries.

The Graphic Design Programme is composed of BA Graphic Design, BA Graphic Design Communication, Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design, MA Graphic Design Communication and MA Global Collaborative Design Practice.

In this key role, you will work collaboratively within a Programme and Course team, building and nurturing key relationships in the pursuit of additional project and award partners for the Course. You will act as a key channel for communication and actively promote the Course to potential candidates and partners. You will deploy specialist expertise in collaborative approaches within Product/Industrial Design to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions. The role will contribute to UAL’s commitment to racial, social and climate justice, and belief that Design can make a substantial and positive contribution to the development of society through engagement with sectors beyond the creative industries.

Candidates will possess specialist knowledge and/or experience of collaborative approaches within a Product/Industrial Design context. We seek candidates who demonstrate a commitment to advancing a scholarly and/or pedagogic agenda focused on design pedagogy, fostering inclusion, social and climate justice, and advancing equity in their teaching practice.

Candidates should possess a record of research, knowledge exchange, and/or professional practice, with a proficiency in product/industrial design practice, theory and concepts and knowledge of technical production. Skills and knowledge in UX/UI, interactive/digital product design are a bonus.

Candidates will work collaboratively within a Programme and Course team, deploying their specialist expertise and contributing insights that intersect institutional partnerships, course content and delivery and student experience, to inform course development in innovative and critical directions that responds to current student feedback and future partnership needs. Successful candidates will be highly organised, strong communicators, active in research and/or knowledge exchange and possess a strong record of publications. An MA in Product Design or relevant field is essential, and a PhD in Design or a relevant field (or near completion) is a bonus.

A secondment is negotiable for internal applicants who should discuss the secondment with their line manager prior to applying.
