In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1 : Curriculum and Learning Resource Development

  • Support the development of evidence-informed, culturally safe, and relevant curriculum/resource development and design and instructional design that is accessible and inclusive for diverse external audiences, including Indigenous peoples and youth.
  • Support the development and adaptation of education and learning sessions that build on individual and community capacity and assets that promote wellness and build capacity, confidence and skills.
  • Contribute to assessing training gaps and needs within the Indigenous Programs under Risk Reduction & Resilience.
  • Contribute to developing comprehensive training programs and curricula that align with program objectives, address gaps/needs and integrate best practices in instructional design methodologies and youth/adult/Indigenous/trauma-informed learning principles into curriculum.
  • Collaborate with internal service lines across geographies to ensure alignment with practice and on-the-ground realities.
  • Contribute to design program standards, outcomes that align with global learning outcomes, and/or learning outcomes that support a field of study (i.e., education, social work, health, etc.)

Responsibility 2 : Training Delivery and Workforce Development

  • Contribute to developing training and mentorship pathways for CRC full-time and casual personnel.
  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for CRC personnel, ensuring content delivery is practical, concise, and compelling.
  • Offer guidance and support to trainers or instructors in delivering training content, including providing training materials and resources.
  • Coordinate with colleagues responsible for developing a calendar/training schedule for internal staff/volunteers.

Responsibility 3 : Community and Partnership Engagement.

  • Ensure community feedback is integrated into engagement and monitoring against learning sessions and activities.
  • Ensure education strategy and identification of supportive learning sessions consider barriers to access services, impacts of historical trauma, and geographical contexts.
  • Available to CRC personnel to support contextual adaptations to ensure activity relevance and accessibility on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibility 4 : Program Evaluation and Improvement

  • Track and analyze training performance indicators to assess the impact of training initiatives on organizational goals.
  • Develop tools to elicit feedback from participants, trainers, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and enhancement in training programs.
  • Continuously review and revise training and learning resources based on evaluation findings, emerging trends, and changing organizational needs to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback and uptake of content, facilitator feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.

What we are looking for :

  • Formal education, 5 to 7 years of experience in the following area(s): Curriculum Development and Education, and five years of experience living in or working directly with Indigenous communities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of unique strengths and complexities that exist within Indigenous communities, particularly for youth, and the impact of colonialization on emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual health and wellness.
  • Experience developing supportive learning sessions that reinforce individual and collective agency and coping mechanisms.
  • Experience in the delivery of adult and youth education and training.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Competent in computer use (Windows, Teams, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, word-processing, and other programs as needed.
  • Experience working with social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of knowledge and learning sharing platforms (e.g. SharePoint, Teams, LMS) is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in an Indigenous language.
  • Experience working in corporate training, higher education, or a similar setting is desirable.

Working conditions :

  • This is a work-from-home position, with the ability to work in an office near a main hub.
  • Travel is required up to 15% of the time.
  • May be required to work non-traditional hours and may be deployed for social emergency response.
