The Institute for the Study of International Development and its International Development Studies program seeks course lecturers (MCLIU – unionized) for a total of 6 courses for the Winter 2023 term at McGill University.  Course lecturers are required for:

• INTD 358 section 1.  Ethnographic Approaches to Development .  Monday and Wednesday, 8:35-9:55.
• INTD 397 section 1.  Topics in International Development .  Monday and Wednesday, 2:35-3:55 pm.
• INTD 397 section 2.  Topics in International Development . Tuesday and Thursday, 1:05-2:25 pm
• INTD 398 section 1.  Topics in Conflict and Development.  Tuesday and Thursday, 4:05-5:25 pm.
• INTD 497 section 1.  Advanced Topics in International Development .  Wednesday and Friday, 10:05-11:25.
• INTD 497 section 2.  Advanced Topics in International Development .  Tuesday and Thursday, 10:05-11:25.

The Institute is particularly interested in applications that will address the following themes:  Conflict, social movements and human rights, migration, environment, corruption and governance. We are also interested to receive other thematic proposals related to international development, as well as applications that address qualitative methods related to development.

Teaching Qualification Requirements

Education: Doctorate or Advanced Studies in related discipline.

Experience: Experience and research in the area of international development.

Rate of pay:  $9625.00 per course.

These courses are scheduled to be taught in person.

Please note that given the resumption of in-person teaching activities, most courses will be taught in person. Exams may however need to be administered remotely depending, mainly on the size of the class. Course Lecturers will be required to plan accordingly. Should government restrictions prohibit the resumption of in person teaching, courses will revert to remote teaching. In the event of such a change, Course Lecturers will be advised without delay. Course Lecturers may be required to prepare and deliver teaching material suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom, WebEx] and the McGill myCourses learning management system. Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) . Course Lecturers are encouraged to record their lectures.
