Admin & Policy Studies in Ed: Focuses on the critical analysis and appraisal of leadership issues across geographic, linguistic, racial, gender and cultural contexts from a comparative perspective. Students will analyze their own experience. This is a co-constructed course designed to speak specifically to students’ realities and address areas of learning identified by the practitioner-learners in the class.
Teaching Qualification Requirements:

Education:

  • Master teacher with an MA in a relevant field (ie. Curriculum studies, leadership or school administration) and extensive relevant experience
  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset

Experience:

  • Expert knowledge of leadership issues across geographic, linguistic, racial, gender and cultural contexts from a comparative perspective particularly in the Quebec context
  • Experience as a school administrator, institutional leader and/or teacher/instructor in the Quebec educational system
  • Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the graduate level

Other:

  • Extensive knowledge of the Quebec education system is an asset
  • Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset

The candidate shall submit her application in writing, in hard copy or electronically to the Department Chair, indicating, in order of preference, on the form reproduced in Appendix 11 the Courses in which she is interested and the number of Courses she wishes to give, during the posting period specified in article 15.04 a).

Posting Period: October 1, 2022 to October 15, 2022 (inclusive)

Please note that given the resumption of in-person teaching activities, most courses will be taught in person. Exams may however need to be administered remotely depending, mainly on the size of the class. Course Lecturers will be required to plan accordingly. Should government restrictions prohibit the resumption of in person teaching, courses will revert to remote teaching. In the event of such a change, Course Lecturers will be advised without delay. Course Lecturers may be required to prepare and deliver teaching material suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom, WebEx] and the McGill myCourses learning management system. Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) . Course Lecturers are encouraged to record their lectures.
