About This Opportunity 

The Mayne Academy of Paediatrics encompasses teaching and research into all aspects of child health from neonatology, medicine, surgery, adolescent medicine, community child health, child and adolescent psychiatry, and radiology.  The core clinical rotation will help prepare medical students for work in paediatric clinical unit, understand the scope of paediatrics, and recognise and differentiate the clinical signs of a seriously ill child. There are a wide variety of research opportunities within clinical departments at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, and the Centre for Children’s Health Research.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Academic to consistently demonstrate a high level of leadership in clinical teaching, clinical research and service and engagement. At this level the incumbent expected to demonstrate outstanding outcomes in leadership roles and have an exceptional record of supervising Higher Degree by Research students successfully to completion as principal supervisor.

What We Can Offer 

This is a part-time (0.25–0.4 FTE), fixed term appointment until 31 December 2025 at either a Clinical Academic Level C, Level D or Level E, commensurate to Candidate’s experience. A competitive salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Please note the successful candidate/s appointment may be progressed as a Conjoint/Secondment through Queensland Health.

Relocating?

In the case of an interstate or international appointee, the University will meet reasonable removal and establishment expenses. Visa sponsorship for this appointment may be available, subject to your eligibility; however please note that we can only provide visa sponsorship for candidates seeking to be employed by UQ on a full-time basis.
