Work Environment
The selected candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative team in Liberia. AIFO’s team in Liberia consists of about 20 dedicated professionals, working between the country office and various districts, fostering a supportive work environment. The programme staff and finance team collaborate closely, ensuring smooth projects implementation. The role may require occasional travel between districts to support field activities, or to other West African countries.
Role
- Ensure proper bookkeeping in Liberia in compliance with local regulations and following the accounting approach given by HQ
- Managing administrative staff within one’s competence
- Actively supporting the Country Coordinator in economic and financial planning in both the preventive and final phases, actively participating in ensuring the economic sustainability of the country
- Collaborate with and supervise project leaders in the administrative management of projects assigned to them by constantly monitoring project expenditure, verifying their planning and validating their financial and budget feasibility
- Organize and conduct audit processes related to on-site financial reporting and actively participate in providing the necessary documents for audits carried out at HQ in Italy
- Prepare financial statements and produce the relevant documentation requested by donors
- Collaborate in drafting budgets for new project proposals
Years of mandatory experience: 3 years as country administrator or similar positions in international cooperation organizations or third sector entities.
Specific skills:
- University education in economic-administrative disciplines or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in Non-Governmental Organizations or Non-Profit Organizations in project management and reporting for major donors (EU, UN, SIDA, others)
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, spoken and written.
- Willingness and ability to work in a team, listening skills, organizational skills, problem solving
- Excellent knowledge of the Office package, in particular Excel (medium/advanced)
