As part of its mandate to mobilize resources for UNFPA’s three transformative goals, the Strategic Partnerships Branch (SPB) mobilizes resources from new and existing private sector partners. The Branch currently manages many high-value, longstanding, and multi-country partnerships with strategic partners, which require high-quality account management and stewardship of the relationship with the partner. This is a crucial pre-condition to enable the expansion of these partnerships and leverage additional resources for UNFPA priorities. The consultant will focus on supporting the effective stewardship of these partnerships to secure additional resources from existing partners.The Partnership Management Consultant is responsible for the following:
● Support the day-to-day management and stewardship of the main foundation and corporate partners supporting UNFPA’s work
● Plan and deliver activities foreseen in individual ‘partnership work plans’ and ensure the timely delivery of UNFPA commitments
● Liaise with Country and Regional Offices to ensure the development and submission of quality progress and financial reports to strategic partners
● Monitor the delivery of UNFPA commitments under each agreement with strategic partners
● Coordinate donor engagement events to showcase and strengthen the partnership with key strategic partners
● Develop new ‘asks’ and pitch proposals to existing partners
● Propose innovative and creative ideas to strengthen partnerships with existing strategic partners
● Participate in donor mapping to identify new business opportunities
● Any other task as assigned by the supervisor
Within the broad scope of work, as outlined above, the consultant is expected to deliver relevant activities on a timely basis, reliably, and accurately throughout the consultancy period. Specific deadlines, reports/deliverables will be on a need basis and communicated accordingly.
The consultant will report to the Strategic Partnerships Specialist in charge of the corporate partnerships portfolio, under the overall supervision of the Chief of the Strategic Partnerships Branch.Expected Travel: None
Required Expertise and QualificationsEducation
Bachelor’s or Postgraduate University Degree or equivalent in marketing, fundraising, communications, political or social sciences or other fields directly related to the substantive area.Knowledge and Experience:● At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
● Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of private sector partnerships.
● Good understanding of effective client relationship management.
● Able to work in a small and dynamic team in collaboration with multiple units.
● Able to work in a start-up mode where work plans are fluid.Languages:
● Fluency in English; fluency in another official UN language is an advantage.How to Apply
