Reporting to the Manager, Copy & Print Services, provide frontline counter service to students, faculty and staff supporting the work and overall operation of Copy & Print Services.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Provide frontline, counter service to students, faculty and staff for high-quality digital colour output, wide-format printing, copying/scanning services and engage with students, faculty and staff to ensure service needs are met

  • Assist students with file preparation for output, including issues related to file types, color settings, and font management

  • Answer inquiries from students, faculty, staff and the general public regarding full and self-serve copy and print services at OCAD University (OCAD U)

  • In conjunction with the Assistant, Copy & Print Services, maintain regular audits of hardware, software and consumables inventory used for the Service Bureau and networked copy and print operations and make recommendations regarding purchasing, repairs or support

  • Assist with support and monitoring of network print and copy device auditing systems for campus printers and copiers

  • Assist in strategies to effectively communicate and promote OCAD U’s Copy & Print Services

  • Assist the Manager, Copy & Print Services in special projects and other duties that contribute to the successful operation of OCAD U’s Copy & Print Services

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent, with one (1) year of clerical/administrative work experience, preferably in a post-secondary educational environment, with a demonstrated strength in customer service

  • Strong computer skills with competent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications

  • Experience delivering high-end print and copy services using Xerox, Canon and Ricoh color, black and white and wide-format output devices, pre-press/imposition software and RIP systems

  • Comprehensive experience with file preparation for professional output using Adobe Creative Suite and other graphics applications

  • Experience with print drivers and font management

  • Familiarity with basic IP based network protocols as it relates to networked print services

  • Experience using and assisting in administration of networked accounting copy and print systems (ex. CUPS, PaperCut, Equitrac)

  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity, and experience promoting a respectful work and learning environment for students, staff and faculty

  • Customer oriented and ability to adapt and respond to different levels of technical and communication skills

  • Completion of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Customer Service training

  • Demonstrated sound judgment and initiative in identifying and resolving problems

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle competing demands

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and participate collaboratively in a team environment

Compensation: OPSEU Unit 1, Appendix A, Grade A1; $18.86 to $25.60 per hour

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, for a total of 35 hours per week. This is a temporary contract expected to continue until January 8, 2023, with the possibility of extension.
