As Coordinator, Student Research Projects and Education Initiatives, you will work with multi-level stakeholders across sites to administer and coordinate projects for the Mississauga Academy of Medicine (MAM) students within the MD Program. You will also coordinate and provide administrative support for non-curricular academy meetings, events and awards programs and provide operational and administrative support for the Academy. Your strong communication, organization, and project coordination skills will be instrumental in driving deliverables and contribute to the overall success of the Academy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to enquiries and resolving minor complaints within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Implementing plans and process improvements for program activities
  • Liaising with contacts to highlight opportunities for student research collaborations
  • Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders, including developing task schedules in concert with project plans
  • Keeping well-informed on changes to courses, program requirements, policies and procedures
  • Creating and editing documents, including drafting presentation materials and internal and external communication materials; Preparing and distributing meeting documentation and meeting minutes
  • Preparing and distributing accreditation and/or academic audit documentation
  • Handling sensitive and/or confidential information

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of combined project coordination and administrative support experience within an academic and/or hospital environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with large-scale event planning and providing senior-level administrative support.
  • Knowledge and application of project coordination methodology and experience; interpreting and applying rules, guidelines, and procedures, and developing and implementing recommended changes to streamline daily operations.
  • Significant experience supporting committees and coordinating logistics for meetings and committees.
  • Experience analyzing and compiling data and information for and creating final reports, documents, or correspondence.
  • Experience independently drafting, editing, and finalizing written materials, including presentations for senior leadership.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated proof reading and editing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and problem solve.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to interact with senior level directors, managers, faculty members, physicians, hospital executives, staff members and students with a customer service orientation while maintaining confidentiality.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: 

USW Pay Band 09 — $65,407 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $83,646. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
