Job Profile Summary

Under limited supervision, the Student Achievement Initiative Coordinator is responsible for extracting, compiling, and analyzing complex data to prepare for visual displays which will assist in sustaining student achievement initiatives and innovations in developmental education. Develop, create, design, and maintain web content and other informational/promotional materials and generate project reports for the developmental education department. Performs other duties as assigned.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Management, Communications, Social Science, Public Policy, Statistics, or related field.  
  • An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Four years of experience coordinating educational programs, managing projects or office environment, and providing administrative support.
  • Experience in website development, reports preparation, and data analysis.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.  

Essential Functions:

  • Daily -30%: Manages projects within the department including web site creation and maintenance, task force committee support,  troubleshooting implementation of initiatives, etc.
  • Monthly- 25%: Assists the Senior Director of Workforce Student Support Solutions by organizing and scheduling meetings, managing budgets, tracking/processing expenditures, performing complex and diverse duties in support of the work area, preparing documents and maintaining electronic records of meetings, and transcribing and summarizing meeting notes.  
  • Weekly -10%: Collaborates with departments, project teams and others to support initiatives. Communicates and explains applicable laws, policies, and procedures as related to area to internal and external constituents.
  • Weekly -30%: Extracts, compiles, and analyzes data; prepares reports, graphical summaries, and presentations; administers surveys and provides interpretation of results.
  • Other, As Needed -5%: Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of developmental education or other academic area policies and practices.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent project management coordination skills.
  • Proficient in using web authoring tools (e.g., Sharepoint) to design and maintain content.
  • Working knowledge of online survey software and survey development, Microsoft Office products, web-based educational software, learning management systems (such as D2L), and other specialized computer systems.
  • General understanding of the College’s and the State of Florida’s structure, policies and practices, and impact on own area, with the ability to coordinate interdependencies of work within the area and of resources from outside the area.
  • Ability to contribute in multiple related areas within the function.
  • Expertise in understanding and following project plans, including the coordination of multiple resources and activities.
  • Understanding of and ability to coordinate interdependencies of work within the area and of resources from outside the area.
  • Ability to interact and effectively communicate with a diverse employee and student population, as well as with outside entities such as corporate vendors and other public governmental agencies. This includes exchanging information and collaborating on formal presentations.
