Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator, SAEM Technology Systems. – Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities include:
- Reports to the Director of Student Affairs IT. Responsible for the maintaining servers and systems in the division of Student Affairs.
- Develops and recommends policies relating to assigned areas of responsibility.
- Coordinates the implementation, and interpretation of operating procedures.
- Assists in insuring that the goals and objectives for the department, university/Board of Regents, and SUS are communicated and achieved.
- Recommends operating budgetary needs for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Provides support for the technology requirements of departments within the Division of Student Affairs, as a member of the Technology Services team.
- Assesses the technological needs of assigned departments and manages the process of implementing needed solutions.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of IT systems within the department, including managing updates, making backups, training users, and establishing security protocols in compliance with university and state security policies.
- Responsible for server and database administration for the entire division.
At the direction of the Director, the position provides services for assigned department(s), including but not limited to:
- Responsible for local inventory maintenance, software license management, database management, disaster recovery.
- Responsible for monitoring the division’s server and their backups to ensure that they are completed on a regular basis.
- Supports the technology needs for the Department of Student Housing, including the management of the housing software (StarRez), and its housing portal website.
- May manage student interns to assist with student tech issues.
- Monitors security compliance in accordance with accepted standards, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for maintenance of systems documentation.
- Responsible for procurement, installation and life-cycle maintenance of IT hardware and software (includes PCs, peripherals, servers, networking equipment, operating systems and other software
- Provides new staff with PC/account setup and orientation.
- Provides escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence (server, NAS, network or PC equipment failure), including data backup recovery.
- Performs complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations in cooperation with the Team Dynamic Helpdesk.
- Provides consulting/training/education services such as data management and staff training/orientation for standard systems.
- Responsible for local IT vendor, contract and outsourcing management.
- Performs appropriate duties associated with division. Participates in the identification, development and communication of new technology standards and best practices as appropriate.
- Other job related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
Salary:
$70,000 – $80,000 per year
