Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno, College of Liberal Arts (CLA) is recruiting for a Coordinator, Marketing Communications. This position is responsible for overseeing and creating the overall design, brand, and execution of highly visible and strategic communications and marketing initiatives that promote the college to both internal and external constituencies. In developing and executing the communications and marketing strategy for the College, the Coordinator reports to the dean and also supervises a CLA communications and marketing team that includes a graphic designer. The position coordinates web communications, print and other marketing services, and serves as a marketing liaison between the assigned College and other University units.

The Coordinator will be highly familiar with two schools (School of the Arts and School of Social Research and Justice Studies), 13 departments, several centers and programs, and various initiatives (e.g., Applied Liberal Arts) that compose the College so that they can work with chairs and directors to develop unit-specific communications and marketing plans consistent with the College’s communications and marketing plan, brand, and identity. The Coordinator works closely with and follows the direction set by the Office of Marketing and Communications to align with the overall marketing strategy and priorities of the University. The position functions as a partnership between the assigned College and the Office of Marketing & Communications, but reports directly to the assigned College.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and three years of related work experience; OR

Master’s Degree and two years of related work experience.

Related Experience

Market-based and/or journalistic writing; media and/or public relations; strategic marketing and/or communications; website content management systems

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion in marketing and communications strategies and initiatives

Schedule or Travel Requirements

Occasional travel and variable hours
