The International Max Planck Research School of Immunbiology, Epigenetics and Metabolism (IMPRS-IEM) of the Max Planck Institute of Immunbiology and Epigenetics and the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg (Germany) invites applications for the position Coordinator of the IMPRS-IEM graduate program (m/f/d). The Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics (MPI-IE) in Freiburg, Germany is an interdisciplinary research institution that conducts basic research in two key areas of modern biology: Immunobiology and Epigenetics. Central questions address the molecular basis of cell type identities, as they are regulated during immune cell differentiation, metabolic response and epigenetic chromatin adaptation.

Your tasks:

• Coordination of the IMPRS-IEM PhD program
• Organization and management of PhD affairs for all PhDs at the MPI-IE and within the IMPRS program
• Organizing the graduate curriculum and training opportunities
• Interfacing between scientific and administrative sections to support PhD researchers; liaising with scientists, administration and the University of Freiburg
• Organization of student recruitment and program marketing

Your qualifictions:

• PhD in Life Sciences, postdoctoral experience a plus
• Professional command of both written and spoken English, professional German skills a plus
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Motivation and interpersonal skills to interact with researchers and administrative staff
• Proven experience in graduate student education
• Prior experience with grant writing or coordination
• Professional experience in science management or communication
• Experience in copy writing and CMS
