Coordinator, Conferences and HUB

Location: New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Coordinator oversees the delivery of a summer conference program that meets financial targets while delivering an experience that represents excellence.
This position fulfills the critical role of overseeing the daily management of the The Hub. This includes investigating and resolving maintenance concerns, performing quality assurance inspections, supervising student desk coordinators, maintaining audio/visual and technology systems, managing reservations for multiple spaces, and working with campus partners to manage the annual calendar of events in the space.
This position is critical personnel in the event of a crisis or evacuation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees and vendors.

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize work assignments, meet established deadlines, anticipate deadlines, and achieve quality desired outcomes.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
• Ability to follow direction including all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations, and emergency procedures established at the facility.
• Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
• Have a strong working knowledge of the suite of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and outlook.
• Ability to perform frequent physical work such as climbing stairs, sustained, lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds, moving, bending
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of directly related experience.
OR
• High School Diploma (or Equivalency) with 9 years of directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a higher education setting.
• Experience planning, executing and assessing large-scale events.
• Experience providing excellent customer service to a variety of stakeholders.
• Team player with a positive outlook dedicated toward constant improvement.
