About Student and Scholarly Services
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.
About the Role
As the Coordinator, Communications and Engagement, you will work collaboratively with the Student Life team in Student and Scholarly Services, Office of the Provost, and the Melbourne Centre for the Study of Higher Education, to plan, design and deliver program wide coordinated communications strategies and campaigns to staff across the university designed to improve student awareness and engagement with these programs. Your role supports the delivery of key aspects of Advising and Mentoring through key channels including the Adviser Portal, websites, Staff Hub, and disseminates key program messages through fit-for-purpose content segmented and relevant to a variety of staff audiences.
Responsibilities include:

Develop strategic communications plans that support operational enhancements and refinements in collaboration with the Office of the Provost to sequence outputs and enable timely and effective implementation

Oversee the content on the Adviser Portal, ensuring that it supports key messages and provides relevant content to academic advisers

Engage with the key stakeholders including academic advisers to produce dynamic content to support adviser engagement at a program-wide level, aligning to key messaging and evolving as the program matures

Contribute to a range of Student Life and student experience initiatives as required
About You
To be successful in this role, your advanced levels of organisational and time management skills will assist in prioritising workloads in order to ensure efficient delivery of tasks are met with deadlines. You will have the ability to communicate and maintain rapport with diverse student, stakeholder and client groups in a fast-paced work environment. You will consistently display initiative and flexibility, with eagerness to take on new challenges.
You will also have:

A degree or post-graduate qualification with substantial relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

Strong copy/content writing and editing skills ensuring clear, simple and consistent messaging, including for web or other online channels

Demonstrated experience and skills in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to reach diverse audiences

Experience using the University’s web CMS
