Position Overview

Reporting to the Procurement Team Leader, you will join our Strategic Procurement and Contracts Office. This position could be conducted from either our Palmerston North or Wellington locations. There are also options for hybrid/remote work.
As our Contracts & Procurement Specialist you will support key aspects of the contract management and procurement strategies at Massey University including drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts, supporting contract risk mitigation, maintaining contract management data and systems, and managing supplier relationships.
You will actively work with procurement management to develop and distribute internal communications related to increasing internal awareness of the capabilities and services provided by the Procurement and Contracts team and be part of a team that procures goods and services through collaborative approaches, by leveraging spend and managing suppliers to optimise costs, improve supplier performance, and lower risk to the University. This includes ensuring that Massey University complies with all contract rules and laws.
Your ability to build meaningful working relationships both internally and externally is essential. You will enjoy building a good rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will be energetic, driven and excel at working collaboratively.

Our preferred location for this role is Palmerston North however welcome applications for those in Wellington who would consider a hybrid role, Wellington/remote opportunity and are prepared to travel as required.
