The University of Lincoln has a long-term ambition to establish a global reputation for research, knowledge exchange, and impact. We are striving to position ourselves firmly in the UK top 50 for research and global top 500 by 2027. Over the past decade we have grown our research and knowledge exchange activity dramatically, both in volume and in quality. To fulfil our ambitions we need to continue on this positive trajectory, establishing greater scale and quality across the breadth of our portfolio, alongside a distinctive reputation. A direct correlation of this has been our increase in external contracts, with the annual amount executed tripling within 5 years. To support us in achieving our growth aims we are recruiting for an experienced, proactive, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Contracts Officer to join our Industrial Partnerships team within the Research and Enterprise department.
This role will provide an efficient and responsive contracts support service. The post holder will be responsible for negotiating and reviewing a wide range of research, education and consultancy agreements, providing clear and pragmatic advice to the University to ensure the most advantageous outcome. Working across the institution and with external partners, the Contracts Officer will be positioned to provide critical knowledge and expertise supporting our research and consultancy portfolio.
The successful candidate will have direct experience in the drafting and reviewing of contracts and a proven track record of negotiating contracts with external partners. Although knowledge of the Higher Education research & innovation funding environment would be beneficial, this is not essential.
This is a really exciting time to join the University, and for the right candidate this post provides a great opportunity to contribute towards our aims and ambitions, whilst developing their career within an enterprising and forward thinking organisation. We offer an award winning staff benefits scheme, 30 days of annual leave plus 14 concessionary days (pro rata) and a generous professional development provision.
