Research Administrative Services Team (RAST)

UCF College of Community Innovation and Education is a one-of-a-kind academic unit with distinct, interdisciplinary expertise and potential for partnership with community stakeholders, conceived to address societal challenges and work alongside the community. Established in 2018, the college offers undergraduate and graduate programs on the main campus and UCF Downtown. At the heart of the college’s mission is the institutional commitment to transform lives and strengthen society by developing a unified vision and innovative solutions to complex social issues. CCIE promotes innovation through state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research with social impact, contemporary inclusive teaching and learning practices, and preeminent service for the disciplines, the institution, and the community.

The Opportunity

The position will provide pre-award and proposal submission support to the faculty and staff in the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE).

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director, Principal Investigators, and their teams to develop proposals for official submission.

  • Develop project budgets and write budget justifications for proposals.

  • Ensure that proposals are accurate, complete, and in full compliance with sponsor and university policies, procedures, and requirements.

  • Provide assistance with interpreting sponsor guidelines and completing college and university forms.

  • Develop and format bio sketches of key personnel involved in a grant project in accordance with the format requirements of the specific funding agency.

  • Coordinate with university partners to prepare subcontracts that will be included in grant proposals.

  • Submit proposals through Huron for internal review and approval prior to submission, and address any comments, or changes prior to official submission.

  • Maintain relevant research administration records as needed.

  • Participate in training to increase research administration knowledge.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in research administration, preferably in a higher education institution.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local government regulations and policies.

  • Project management experience, detail-oriented, and possess excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collegially with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office and related software and web-based technology tools (i.e., email, Skype, online databases).
