Contingent Staff (Interactive Multimedia Designer)

Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/education programmes, part-time and full-time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs of individuals.  All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency.

About the Role

To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to serve as contingent staff in our eLearning & Technology Support Unit.  

If you are creative, enjoy developing digital or virtual artifacts and have a keen eye for details, we want you to join our eLearning team as an Interactive Multimedia Designer.  Reporting to the Head (eLearning), you will create illustrations, animations, videos, and interactive content for eLearning.  The successful candidate will combine text, audio, animation, photography, and video to create informational and impactful content.  

This role is offered on an hourly-rated, 6-month contract basis.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Design, and create functional and compelling online learning artifacts using graphics, audio, animations, and videos that infuse interactive or gamification elements
•    Assemble media elements within online learning authoring tools like Articulate, Captivate or Video Scribe to create online learning assets
•    Design interactive learning objects using Articulate Storyline
•    Perform audio and video editing

Qualifications

Requirements:

Academic & Professional Certification
•    A good bachelor’s degree with user experience design (UXD), interactive storytelling, and visual communication skills from a reputable university; fresh university graduates or those with polytechnic diplomas in multimedia or graphics design may apply
•    Strong English language proficiency and visual communication skills are essential
•    IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications

Experience & Attributes 
•    Competent in graphics design and layout
•    Competent in 2D animation
•    Competent in digital video and audio editing
•    Possess strong time management and organisational skills
•    Resilient, resourceful, possesses good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
•    Experienced in creating multimedia content
•    Basic programming skills (e.g., JavaScript) for developing xAPI or cmi5 packages is advantageous
