Salary: UH6 £31,396 to £33,966 pa with potential to progress to £37,099 by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: University of Hertfordshire, Bishops Square, Hatfield
Are you an experienced communications lead excited by the opportunity to take our student engagement activity to the next level? You will be inspired by the opportunity to engage the next generation as they progress through their studies with Herts.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Student Engagement Communications team work with the Pro Vice Chancellor Student Education and Experience, Herts SU and Dean of Students as well as colleagues across Marketing and Communications to develop and deliver the University’s Student Engagement Strategy in line with the university’s strategic ambition for student experience. You will also valuate analytics of pages prior to and following improvements and make continuous improvements.
Our priority is to create a great student experience, and this is where our Ask Herts website comes in. The website is a one-stop shop for students to get answers to questions that helps them navigate university life. The website covers every topic from academic life, wellbeing, jobs and careers and community information.
We are looking for two new co-ordinators to work within our Student Engagement team and to audit the website content and develop and execute a roadmap to help us improve Ask Herts website for our students. You will work closely with colleagues across the University Work (stakeholders and current and future editors) to create a better Ask Herts website.
Skills and experience required
You will have a strong standard of marketing and communications experience with the ability to demonstrate marketing principles and communication skills. Exceptional written and verbal communications skills are also essential. Experience using research and insight to better understand target segments to improve our approach to communications and user experience is necessary. An understanding of higher education is desirable
Having great organisational skills and the ability to coordinate resources to deliver complex projects successfully and on a budget will make you ideal for this role. You will be digitally confident, with practical IT experience in Office 365. And of course, you will be totally customer-focused and can effectively influence and build rapport with senior stakeholders.
A minimum of a degree and/or professional Marketing qualification such as CIM or proven equivalent professional experience
