The Configuration Management Support Engineer supports business critical processes and integrations that drive the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This position works within the Asset and Configuration Management team responsible for designing, developing, and managing data and integrations to support university wide IT services.
The Configuration Management Support Engineer develops integrations for the university ServiceNow CMDB and helps manage ServiceNow Discovery to provide information on configuration items and their interrelationships and to enable service management automation.
This position ensures the accuracy and completeness of CMDB data and supporting documentation, facilitates the CMDB data certification process, assists with data remediation, engages customer groups, and handles customer requests for the Asset and Configuration Management service.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in computer & information science
Bachelor’s degree in computer and information science or business management, or equivalent educational experience. A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated development experience with scripting and integrations; demonstrated documentation and data analysis skills with the ability to multi-task and ability to communicate effectively and professionally; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to integrate well as a member of a functional team; collaborative, problem-solving mindset; positive, enthusiastic learner.
Desired Education and Experience
Broad technical knowledge of enterprise level IT services; development experience utilizing Python, JavaScript, web services and Airflow; familiarity with software licensing, asset management; experience utilizing ServiceNow and other ITSM/CMDB tools; familiarity with cloud services; ITIL v3/v4 certification
Additional Information:
The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $63,000-$76,000
