This position is an Auxiliary Contract – Leave Replacement ending November 3, 2023.
This Compliance Officer position will work day/early evening shifts on a rotational basis with the other Compliance Officers.
Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for the daily enforcement of the UBCO Traffic and Parking rules and issues citations to vehicles parking in violation of the rules. This position is also responsible for the issuing of parking permits, financial management of all collected monies from ticket dispensers, parking lot maintenance, equipment maintenance, signage and enforcement. This position is fully aware of all aspects of parking at the University and provides information on parking to faculty, staff, public and students.
Organizational Status
This position reports to the Manager, Parking Services.
Work Performed
Parking Compliance
– First responder for enquiries and complaints from faculty, staff, students and the general public
– Monitors Parking Enforcement system and issues parking violations (tickets)
– Organizes and coordinates installation and removal of immobilization device on multiple violation offenders vehicles
– Supports Ceremonies, Conference Centre, Faculties and Departments to assist with special requirements for parking services, e.g. signage, traffic control
Maintenance
– Reports maintenance on all parking lots, keeping the appearance at an acceptable level, e.g., repairs, resurfacing, line painting, and sweeping
– Assists with installation and maintenance of parking meters, ticket dispensing machines, light standards, installation of signage and other equipment
– Assists with ordering, collecting, storing and maintaining equipment stock to ensure all parking lot equipment are kept operational
– Evaluates and reports condition of parking lot equipment to the Manager, Parking Services
– Reports any issues with electronic equipment or vehicles to Parking Management
– Assists in maintaining and servicing Parking Services vehicles and equipment
– Removal of snow around ticket dispensers when required
Administrative and Financial Support
– Collects coinage from parking meters, and ticket dispensers and forwards to the appropriate UBC financial department for monthly reconciliation when required
– Enters information and maintains computerized Parking Services Data Base (PSDB) (T2) software program
– Reconciles records of issued parking passes as required
– Assists with refunds, bank deposits, journal vouchers, financial services reconciliations and revenue statements as required.
– Works with, maintains electronic wireless debit and visa card instrument, and acquires service when required. Processes and records all related printouts as required.
Performs other related duties as required including providing backup for other Parking Compliance Officers and Parking Services Administrative Coordinators.
