The Department of Mathematics is consistently ranked as one of the best in Canada. Our department members include numerous award-winning faculty with outstanding accomplishments and leading research within a field that requires critical thinkers who analyze, assess and problem solve.
Under the direction of the Department Manager and the Chair of the Department, this role is responsible for providing strategic communications and supporting new engagement strategies and activities to promote faculty awards, honours, and academic programs to internal community members (students, faculty, staff) as well as alumni and the University community. This involves working with information including reports, data analysis, extensive research and writing clear and compelling news pieces and social media content. The role will create and support strategic alumni and development communication tools including new and innovative social media initiatives, among others. This positionleads writing and editing reports and stories of the highest quality and accuracy for both print and digital media.

USW Pay Band 11 — $67,659 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $86,523. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
