We are looking for a strategic, creative, and proactive Communications Consultant. As a Communications Consultant, you will support the strategic positioning and visibility of the IDB as a trusted partner for sustainable development by developing and implementing communications initiatives, advising management on communication strategies, and promoting institutional priorities, regional programs, partnerships, operations, and knowledge products across diverse audiences and channels.
You will work in the Barbados Country Office, part of the Country Caribbean Department (CCB) within the Vice Presidency for Countries and Regional Integration (VPC). This team is responsible for strengthening the IDB Group’s presence and impact in the Caribbean region by supporting country engagement, fostering regional integration, advancing sustainable development initiatives, and promoting strategic partnerships and knowledge-sharing activities. The team works closely with stakeholders across the IDB Group to ensure effective communication and visibility of the institution’s priorities, programs, and results.
Education: A Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or other fields relevant to the responsabilities of the role.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in strategic communications, development communications, or public relations.
Languages: Proficiency in English spoken and written, is required.
Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. Must be eligible to work in job location(s) without the need for sponsorship.
Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
