Maastricht University’s Student Services Centre (SSC) is looking for a communication officer for the department StudentenStad.
Are you passionate about communication and do you have experience with social media? Do you enjoy establishing communication strategies and leading a young team? Then the Student Services Centre (SSC) is looking for you.


Job description

What are you going to do?

The department of StudentenStad is responsible for various projects by and for the student community, among which mymaastricht.nl , Kaleido, the HuurTeam Zuid-Limburg and Match.

• You are the direct link between StudentenStad, the student community and the media;
• You coordinate and give advice about the communication with students and other relevant target groups;
• You coordinate the project of mymaastricht.nl and its student employees;
• You represent and promote mymaastricht within UM and ZUYD;
• You advise communication employees of the other StudentenStad projects about the usage of social media;
• You support the project leaders of the different projects with press releases;
• You align the different house styles within the department;
• You represent StudentenStad in central meetings within and outside of the SSC;
• You join and co-organize various events where students get to know the city and UM.

Requirements

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a communication expert with strong verbal and written skills in both Dutch and English who enjoys establishing communication campaigns. You like to collaborate and have experience in leading (student) employees. You are passionate and experienced in the management of various social media channels and can relate to the target group of students. You are result oriented, well organized and know how to set priorities. You have a background in communication or related experience in the field.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year, with opportunity to extend.

StudentenStad at the SSC

Where are you going to work?

You’ll join the young and dynamic team of StudentenStad at the SSC, located at Bonnefantenstraat 2 in Maastricht. Simultaneously, you’ll be part of the communication team of the SSC, where you can exchange knowledge and ideas to contribute to the communication strategy of the SSC. The SSC helps students with a wide range of issues related to studying and student life. This includes topics such as application, registration, tuition fees and diploma recognition, but you can also contact the SSC for legal advice on a study related issue, career advice or advice from a psychologist. In addition to providing students with help, the SSC supports several organizations that organize extracurricular activities. Read more about the SSC here .
