Communication and Education Manager – 18 month contract

Reporting to the National Director, Education and Communication Strategy, you will be responsible for facilitating group retirement education session(s) and developing education and communication strategies to maximize engagement and participation in retirement plans. A key measure of success in this role will be driving outcomes including the retention of client assets, increasing membership/contributions, and the transfer of assets from other financial institutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Primary focus on educating and servicing all clients within the National Service Program.
  • Create and execute annual communication and education strategies for clients in the region.
  • Work with Plan Sponsors to emphasize and encourage plan participation, maximization, transfers in and enrolment in voluntary plans.
  • Incumbent must manage sessions with emphasis on time and cost management (travel budget).
  • Create and deliver member presentations and written communications within Canada Life marketing guidelines and observing market conduct issues.
  • Actively support the implementation process and develop member communication and education strategies.
  • Work closely with Client Relationship Managers to ensure appropriate educational sessions and communications are provided to client set as per the National Service Program.
  • Participate in finalist meetings to bring to life how Canada Life supports members throughout their member journey.
  • Partner with the National Communication and Education team to create and improve content of Group Retirement Services standard sessions, coordinate both in-person and virtual education sessions, and share best practices.
  • Contribute to the growth of the average assets per member.

Required Competencies and Behaviors:

  • Must have group retirement experience with a background in the financial services industry.
  • Customer service focus with an ability to build strong relationships with clients, our broker / advisor community and consultants or plan sponsors.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on negotiation skills.
  • Superior presentation skills with a proven ability to present investment and retirement planning topics to pension committees, plans sponsors and group audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to fluctuating work volumes while working independently.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Quick thinking and innovative
  • Must have a vehicle, insurance, and valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of Group Benefits products and services is an asset

The base salary for this position is between $57,100- $95,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
