The School of Social Work, Care and Community at the University of Central Lancashire are seeking to appoint a Service User and Carer Involvement Facilitator to support the Comensus group in engaging people with lived experiences in health and social care academic programmes. The successful candidate will support people to engage in curriculum development and delivery in response to the professional qualifying bodies to ensure the inclusion of people with lived experience in admissions, assessments and teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and visionary, keen to shape education in a positive manner and have the ability to work as part of a team and take on the responsibility of supporting a diverse group of volunteers.
Applicants should have experience of facilitating community engagement and user/carer involvement activity within a health, education, social care or third sector setting and have experience in facilitating learning and teaching with an understanding of the UK health and social care system.
The successful candidate will have a graduate qualification in either health, social care or an appropriate subject area. There will also be an expectation that the successful candidates will have a flexible and innovative approach to working with a diverse population and actively seek to engage those with seldom heard voices, encouraging dialogue between services users, carers, staff and students.
