CODED WIRE TAG (CWT) RECOVERY TECHNICIAN
SCIENTIFIC TECHNICIAN 2 (ST2)

Fish Program – Hatchery Division – CWT Lab
Olympia, Washington – Thurston County

Become part of a dynamic and diverse team that is invested in making a difference in the conservation of Washington State’s salmon and fish populations.

Work in the Coded Wire Tag (CWT) Recovery Unit, in a laboratory setting, processing all tagged salmon heads, totaling up to 100,000, from all the salmon fisheries, spawning ground recoveries and hatchery

rack returns in Washington waters!

If this sounds like the perfect opportunity for you then apply today and join the WDFW Team!

With that in mind,

Picture yourself gathering data from salmon heads that were collected from both marine and freshwater collection centers throughout Puget Sound, Strait of Juan de Fuca, ocean areas, Columbia and Snake River and their tributaries.

This is an opportunity to collect the data that is used by biologists and managers to meet specific deadlines for pre-season planning and in-season management.

The optimal applicants will have a positive can-do attitude as they collect/sample data and are eager to work hard and have fun in an environment where there’s never a dull moment.
