SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting the senior geneticist in the genetic analysis of pedigree and research data by running R D summaries for data from hatchery selection feed conversion dissection and other technologies using SAS and Qlikview. Assist pedigree geneticists in ratings all selection steps. Troubleshooting hardware issues tablets touchscreens scales scanners and software used to collect screen and validate data. In order to fulfill these requirements the candidate will need to have some familiarity with databases and programming; should be very organized and comfortable multi-tasking; directly assisting the senior geneticist on three pedigree farms.

REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor of Science degree.

Experience: 2 plus years related experience. Computer Skills: Solid understanding of statistics and a suitable programming language is required. SAS Qlikview experience is a plus. Some knowledge of genetic parameters is desirable. Ability to summarize data in Excel graphs and Power Point slides is required.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills: Ability to work with tight deadlines.

Supervisory: None.

Travel: 5-10 trips per year.

Primary Location: Dry Creek Farm, Deer Lodge TN, or Bear Hollow Farm, Pineville, MO.
