As part of the university’s comprehensive vaccination program, all

New hires are required to provide documentation showing full
vaccination status (that is, completion of two shots of the Moderna or
Pfizer vaccine or one shot of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson) before
their first day of work. If a new hire’s vaccination is not complete or
information is not received by their start date, the first day of work
will be delayed. It is possible in some cases that an offer of
employment may be withdrawn.

CMS MREFC 2023 Summer Internship Program for Underrepresented Minority Undergraduate Students. The CMS MREFC Summer Internship program is aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the STEM fields. Students from underrepresented minority groups are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility:

No prior experience in this area of specialty is required. Training and mentorship will be provided.
Qualifications include a C or higher in introductory mechanics and electricity and magnetism, an interest in high-energy physics, and a willingness to learn new skills.
Many institutions require employees, whether they work on campus or work fully remotely, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or to have obtained a university-approved medical or religious exemption. The Internship program is open only to US citizens and permanent residents. If accepted, you will be required to show proof of citizenship or permanent residency.
This program is intended primarily for sophomore and junior students in science and engineering. In exceptional cases first year students could have enough familiarity with physics, engineering, or computer science to profit from their research experience.
Students who have not yet enrolled as undergraduates are not eligible. In some cases seniors may be considered, depending on employment rules at the hosting institutions (in some cases graduating seniors cannot be appointed into undergraduate internship positions).
If accepted, you will have to show proof of health insurance coverage for the period of the Internship Program.

Your application should include:

Personal statement, approximately one page in length, describing:

your experience, skills, interests, and goals;

host institutions to which you are applying;

what would participating in a STEM research project mean to you, from the perspective of your identify; and

what is it in your lived experience that has influenced you to either engage with or become passionate about issues surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM fields.

A list of courses taken and your overall GPA, or an unofficial transcript.

One letter of recommendation from a professor that is familiar with your academic performance and your potential to contribute to research.
