About the Organization An integrated, collaborative, interdisciplinary vaccine research team, the Canadian Center for Vaccinology (CCfV) is committed to developing, implementing and evaluating vaccine technologies and vaccines for infectious diseases that have a significant impact on Canadian and global health and training experts in these critical and evolving fields. Job Summary Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Clinical Trials Network (CTN), and with oversight from the Chief Administrative Officer, CCfV, the CTN Project Manager provides administrative and management support for the entire portfolio of CTN studies, which includes several multi-site clinical trials, both national and international.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall coordination of assigned studies in accordance with CCfV Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or sponsor or regulatory guidelines under the guidance of the PI, as well as act as the primary liaison with sponsor for industry-funded clinical trials.
  • Act as lead to a national network of site research coordinators and various team members for each aspect of various projects.
  • Manage multiple project budgets including development, forecasting, monitoring and reporting and advising on risk mitigation strategies to achieve sound financial management.
  • Review and assist with the development of protocols, Case Report Forms, consent forms, and other study documents; develop, review and approve Statements of work, contracts, and budgets, as well as maintain study documentation in adherence with the CCfV filing system.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including research groups within Canada and internationally; as well as the CCfV Laboratory and Data Management teams on all aspects of project logistics.
  • Assist in the preparation of network materials for annual reports and other knowledge translation activities as required; assist with the writing and review of academic publications, including presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts.
Note The successful applicant will primarily work remotely, with occasional presence in-person on-campus to meet client needs and operation requirements.
Dalhousie’s vaccine mandate has been suspended at this time, and employees no longer need to provide proof of full vaccination. However, health and safety risks to our community will continue to be monitored and a vaccine mandate may be reinstated if necessary. Additionally, as this position is in a clinical academic department based within IWK Health facilities, IWK’s vaccination and other relevant workplace policies will apply.
Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Nursing with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience within a university research setting, hospital, or comparable environment (or combination of training and experience). Extensive project management experience, as well as experience writing, editing and reviewing protocols and other study-related documents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques. Understanding of Research Ethics, in concept and practice. Demonstrated experience with budget management and reporting oversight. Knowledge of federal, provincial or other private/public funding agencies.
Assets Experience in a clinical or research setting.
