Clinical Trials Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Trials Coordinator to contribute to the work of the Oxford Vaccine Group, led by Andrew Pollard, within the, Department of Paediatrics, University of Oxford, based at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford.

This post will work with the support of the Project Manager and Senior Research teams to coordinate aspects of trial delivery across a portfolio of studies from set up to closeout, ensuring quality in all areas of trial delivery. You will also oversee data entry on the computer database, undertake central data entry and perform regular systematic checks of information held on trial database as required and you will act as a resource, providing advice and support to colleagues both internal and external to the group to promote good research practice.

The post holder will have relevant administration and/or project management experience in an academic environment. Understanding of clinical research methodology, good clinical practice and the research governance framework would be expected. Previous experience as a trial coordinator and experience of overseeing the conduct of large clinical trials is desirable. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to be comfortable and confident interacting with volunteers and patients in a research study, clinical research co-ordinators, team members, laboratory and administrative staff, monitors, collaborating company representatives, MCA auditors and the broader research community.

This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 2 years in the first instance with possibility of renewal.
