About the role
We are looking for a Clinical Trial Coordinator to work in our busy Clinical Trials team. You will be working across the DISCUS and Trans-EndoNET studies and will be based at the Botnar Research Centre in Headington, Oxford. You will work closely with the Trial and Data Managers for each study to ensure the effective conduct of the studies in accordance with the trial protocols and regulatory and institutional procedures where appropriate. You will help manage the trial email account, maintain trial files and will assist the management of the participating clinical centres’ activities, which may include conducting site visits and addressing training needs where appropriate. You will work as part of a wider team, working closely with the NHS clinical and academic staff to ensure the highest standards of research governance and to deliver the trial on time and to budget.
Short description of the trials:
DISCUS (Duroplasty for Injured Cervical Spinal Cord with Uncontrolled Swelling) is an emergency spinal neurosurgery randomised controlled trial for Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury (TSCI). It recruits from major trauma centres and follows them up at rehab and compares surgery including laminectomy plus duroplasty to surgery including laminectomy.
Trans-EndoNET is a mechanistic sub-study of the NIHR Funded EndoNET Trial, a Phase III Trial looking at neoadjuvant endocrine treatment in post-menopausal women with breast cancer.
About you
The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English, Maths and a Science related subject. You will have previous experience in clinical research and working knowledge of the relevant ethical, legislative and research governance requirements relevant to clinical trials as well as familiarity with medical terminology. Excellent communication skills are essential as well as good organisational and problem solving skills. A willingness to travel to trial sites and meetings nationally is essential.
This full-time post is available immediately and is fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance. We would be willing to consider applications for part-time hours.
