Position Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with prior clinical trials experience to join our research team at the Department of Anesthesia and Pain Management. Working under the direction of the Clinical Research Managers and Principal Investigators, the successful candidate willbe responsible fortheoversight,organizationand coordination of multi-site trials.

Duties

Specific tasks will include daily administrative research operations, interfacing and coordinating with a team of scientists and knowledge users, preparing, and maintaining REB applications, research proposals and maintaining meticulous study records in compliance with study protocols.

  • Day-to day-coordination and implementation of multi-site research projects

  • On behalf of the sponsor,maintainexternal site file documentation, such as collection of regulatory documents, submission to the Research Ethics Board and other regulatory agencies asrequired

  • Participate in cross-network patient engagement activities

  • Organize research team meetings; building strong supportive relationships amongst diverse knowledge users

  • Prepare study documents and templates (i.e. CRFs, study logs) and coordinate all aspects of data collection and source documentation as per UHN policy and ICH/GCP guidelines

  • ManageREDCapDatabase- review andmonitorstudy data; issue external accounts

  • Recruitstudy participants (e.g.identify, screen potential participants & obtain informed consent)

  • Liaise on behalf of thesponsorwithexternal stakeholders & members of the clinical site research team

  • Organize and prepareexternalsites for monitoring visits and/or audits

  • Contributeto protocol development

Qualifications

  • Bachelorsdegree in a health or science-related field or equivalent

  • 1 to 2 years clinical and/or professional experience is required

  • 3years clinical research experience and experience with patient contact is preferred

  • Prior experience in the coordination and administration of clinical trials

  • Prior experiencewith research regulatory submissions(i.e. Clinical Trials Ontario)

  • TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification preferred

  • Knowledge of IATA (International Air Transport Association) shipping regulations and laboratory procedures preferred

  • Previousexperience withmulti-sitesurgical and anesthesiaclinical trials and/or PIinitiatedtrials preferred

  • Knowledge of research regulations and guidelines, such as ICH/GCP guidelines, Tri-Council Policy, Declaration of Helsinki and FDA CFR and Health Canada TPD

  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordancetoUHN standards

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational & time management skills & attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task & perform with accuracy in a fast-paced environment

  • Well-developed leadership & excellent interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated; ability to work well independently as well as part of a team

  • Strong analytical &problem solvingskills

  • Excellent decision-making, listening & conflict resolution skills
