Job Summary:

The Clinical Placement Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Associate Dean. The major responsibilities of this position include overall coordination and management of the student clinical placements for assigned programs and
departments.
Travel: 25%

Full Job Description:

1. Meets with and consults with department chairs and faculty to identify the

clinical placements required to meet the learning goals of the programs.

2. Contacts, establishes and maintains relationships with agencies for clinical

placements, field placements and internships for assigned programs.

3. Works with clinical placement system (CCPS) to manage requests for use of

clinical facilities.

4. Expands student placements opportunities in collaboration with faculty and

department chairpersons.

5. Supports the faculty in developing new relationships and establishing legal

agreements for additional practice opportunities.

6. Manages formal evaluation of clinical sites and clinical preceptors.

7. Develops and maintains a system of record related to clinical placements,

fieldwork and practica, and preceptors.

8. Works with legal counsel to assure all contracts with sites are current and

appropriate.

9. Acts as a liaison between faculty and clinical sites educators for issues related

to clinical placement and for assuring faculty and student orientation.

10. Updates and maintains Agency Orientation information on student and

faculty portals.

11. Promotes a climate conducive to professional and scholarly development of

faculty and students.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of increasingly responsible work experience.

  • Work in academic setting preferred.

  • Excellent understanding of technology.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to balance competing priorities.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; including the ability to communicate on a professional level with groups and individuals across the School and the University and with external constituents, ability to edit and proofread complex documents, and ability to draft original  

    correspondence.
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills, including the ability to work with a highly diverse population of students, staff and faculty, and the ability to exchange non-routine information using tact and persuasion and the ability to work and communicate with a highly diverse constituency, from new university graduates to C-level executives.

  • Ability to travel, and work evenings and weekends.
