Position Summary:
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Clinical Nurse IV is responsible for the functions related to the delivery of patient care, as it relates to the inpatient/outpatient PICC Line patient. The Clinical Nurse IV is responsible and accountable for the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care provided to the patients. Assists, and educates the nursing staff providing the day to day care. Provides PICC Line insertion to patients of all ages, following standard PICC Line procedures. Assists the Nurse Manager in leading, planning, controlling and evaluating nursing practices and operations as it relates to the PICC Lines. Provides patient care to an assigned group of patients and is considered the clinical expert and resource for the PICC Line specialty. The CN IV incorporates the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other using clinical knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Serves as a role model, clinical resource and leader to colleagues, staff, patients and students.

| CLIN_Appropriately inserts PICC line per best practice, incorporating patient preference into plan of care. Places peripheral IVs when the use of ultrasound is required to obtain intravenous access. Assesses and documents the patient’s physical & psychosocial condition, as well as response to care. Required Qualifications:
Completion of PICC insertion course, including didactic and practicum
Completion of x-ray interpretation course for PICC tip location
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Minimum 4 years experience as a nurse, including a minimum of 1 year as a PICC Line nurse
Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills with the ability to lead effectively
Licenses and Certifications:
Basic Life Support(Required)
Registered Nurse(Required)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science, Nursing
Experience placing Pediatric PICC lines
