Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Clinical Lecturer, Nursing
to join School of Nursing, Faculty of Health, Academic Division.

The role will suit an applicant who is excited by the opportunity to lead clinical education through innovative learning approaches, and provide students with skills that reflect the needs of the community now and into the future. The role requires the appointee to be effective in connecting and collaborating with industry, the community, consumers of health services, and primary health care providers to address disparities in health outcomes in the community.

About the Academic Division

The Academic Division is responsible for supporting and delivering learning, teaching, research and research services to students and staff. This is realised via the Education and Research portfolios and through the work of our Faculties.
The Head of the Academic Division is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic), Professor Robina Xavier. Professor Xavier provides strategic oversight and financial management of the Division and provides leadership to the Education portfolio. 

The Division’s Research portfolio and academic faculties, are led by the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research), Professor Christopher Barner-Kowollik.

About the Faculty

What you need to succeed

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.

You will demonstrate:

  • Completion of a postgraduate qualification in a relevant speciality area (Masters level and/or, progression towards a doctoral qualification), and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority, plus additional certification required for ongoing clinical practice or clinical supervision (Blue Card, CPR, first aid, and full vaccination including an approved COVID19 vaccine).
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary debates, issues, theories and trends relevant to clinical education in nursing.
  • Track record of teaching, curriculum development, unit coordination and clinical education experience which promotes innovative and real-world learning.
  • Strong organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to coordinate and supervise clinical placements, including the ability to continually improve learning activities.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in connecting with external clinical partners to develop strong working relationships and enhance student experience.
  • Demonstrated contributions to research and scholarly activities relating to clinical nursing education.
