Clinical Learning Facilitator (Cardiac Physiology)

Salary: Grade 8 £36,386 – £42,155 per annum pro rata together with USS benefits

Contract: Fixed-term until 31st December 2023

Hours: Full time 35 hours

Location: Singleton Campus

The successful applicant will join the Biomedical Science team, which is part of the Interprofessional Health Studies Department within the College of Human and Health Sciences. The Department is home to a number of Healthcare programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Cardiac Physiology, Respiratory Physiology, Neurophysiology, Audiology, Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering. The successful applicant will contribute to the Cardiac Physiology programmes. These professional programmes are highly respected by the various professional communities for the quality of graduates and for the contribution the staff make to these professions in the UK and abroad. Students on these programmes study within the University and on placements at hospitals across Wales where they gain their clinical skills. Before they attend placements, the students practice within the University in clinical suites. Equipment is available to ensure the experience matches their work environment.  Although based at the Singleton Campus, the Clinical Learning Facilitator will be visiting departments across Wales. Therefore, the time will be split between singleton campus and healthboards in Wales. The successful applicant will join a team of Clinical Facilitators who concentrate on the work-based learning components of the programme in each of the respective disciplines. Such duties include arranging student visits, student assessments, mentorship training, mentor support and teaching.

The successful candidate should be a qualified Cardiac Physiologist with a BSc degree in the discipline (or equivalent). Clinical Scientists in the field are also encouraged to apply.
