Academic Medicine Advanced Learner position within the Department of Family Medicine. We have developed this advanced learner position with advanced teaching and curriculum development responsibilities and structured faculty development experiences. We intend the graduates of this program to have higher-level opportunities for clinician-teacher assignments and clinical/educational leadership positions.  

The basic clinical schedule will consist of 5 half-days, weekly of clinical and clinical teaching activity, including on average one evening session per week and one weekend session per month. Occasional precepting also is possible based on availability and approval of the residency director. In addition, some inpatient attending responsibilities may be possible depending on opportunities available during the year

Required Qualifications*

M.D., Residency-trained and board-certified (eligible) in family practice. Prior experience in managed care type practices;training in procedural skills (e.g., colposcopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy). Hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical license in the State of Michigan. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
