About This Opportunity 

We are seeking a Clinical Data Manager to design, program and maintain data capturing systems for clinical trials coordinated by the Australasian Kidney Trials Network (AKTN). This is a great opportunity to apply your skills to monitor data quality, provide support in electronic data capture to AKTN staff and clinical trial site coordinators. This position will be located at the Translational Research Institute.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Produce and maintain data management plans for AKTN-coordinated trials and workflows for clinical trial data management systems

  • Manage electronic Case Reform Form (eCRF) design and development, testing and maintaining, closing and archiving of electronic data capture (EDC) systems for storing clinical trial data

  • Manage data quality assurance and closeout procedures before database lock

  • Develop clinical trial data specifications, user requirements, edit rules/checks, data validation and user acceptance testing (UAT) procedures for EDC systems

  • Develop clinical trial data specifications, user requirements and user acceptance testing procedures for electronic randomisation systems

  • Produce data quality reports for recruiting trials, monitor data quality and ensure timely and accurate data collection

  • Contribute to writing and reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for data management functions of the AKTN

  • Support biostatisticians in the preparation of data screening and Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) reports for DSMB meetings

About You  

  • Tertiary qualifications in a scientific discipline, information technology, data management, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training

  • Strong IT skills relevant to database development, data manipulation and data analysis

  • Strong interest in innovative data architecture including combining primary and secondary datasets

  • High-level problem solving, conceptual and analytical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to use judgement, show initiative, and work independently

Desirable

  • Programming experience in a research environment (e.g. R, Python)

  • Experience in electronic data capture systems (e.g. REDCap, Medidata)

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory guidelines for clinical data management and data privacy

What We Can Offer 

This is a full-time (100% FTE) fixed-term position for up to 12 months at HEW 7.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,763.14 – $96,783.71 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range  $103,852.87 – $113,236.94 per annum.
