Description

The Clemson University College of Education seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill a full-time position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Organizational Leadership Development (EOLD). This 9-month appointment will begin in fall 2023 and includes coordinating the Master of Education and Education Specialist Degree (MEDS) programs. The position involves teaching, program development and assessment, recruiting and advising students, scheduling courses, maintaining a network of alumni, and collaborating with other EOLD program coordinators.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Assistant Professor duties related to Teaching/Advising, Service, and Research:

•     Teach and advise students in the MEDS programs

  • Engage in service activities that benefit Clemson University as well as scholarly and practitioner communities
  • Maintain an active research agenda

Program Coordinator duties related to developing and maintaining high quality MEDS programs:

  • Foster a culture that links teaching, research, and service
  • Create opportunities that create and enhance external partnerships
  • Recruit and advise a diverse group of students in accord with Clemson’s land-grant mission
  • Promote the effective use of instructional technology to facilitate learning in various settings
  • Provide program-level management (e.g., enrollment, scheduling, recruitment and training of instructors, program material development), strategic planning, and curriculum enhancement
  • Collaborate with College, Department, state, district, and school leaders to assess needs and develop proposals for program improvement and innovation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • A doctorate in educational leadership or related degree. Applicants who are nearing completion of their dissertation may be considered
  • Experience in graduate-level instruction, advising, and programming
  • Leadership experience in educational settings (e.g, building, district, and partnerships)
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and service
  • Demonstrated communication skills including evidence of cultivating partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
