| Position Summary | A teaching load of two-to-three course sections (6-9 credit hours) for each fall, spring, and summer semester is expected. Courses may include Exercise Physiology I and II, Exercise Testing and Interpretation Lab, Advanced Strength Training and Conditioning, Exercise and Special Populations, Introduction to ESMS, and others. Oversight of relationships with internship site supervisors is expected, as is the supervision of student interns. Service to the College, University, and profession is expected. The position is a full-time, non-tenure track academic-year (12-month) appointment. |
| Minimum Position Qualifications | A minimum of an earned master’s degree is required in Exercise Science, Health Sciences, or a related area of study. The ability to teach lower- and upper-division ESMS undergraduate courses (e.g., Introduction to ESMS, Exercise Physiology, Exercise and Special Populations, and/or Exercise Laboratory Testing Techniques) is required. Current certifications in any or all the following are desired: NSCA® Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, ACSM® Certified Exercise Physiologist, ASEP® Exercise Physiology Certified. The ability to interact with professionals in different settings to maintain internship site opportunities for students, as well as create new opportunities within all disciplines in CHS is required. Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required. The candidate must meet eligibility requirements to begin and continue working in the United States at the time of the appointment. |
