Featuring a Level 1 Trauma Center and the first Pediatric Trauma Center in the state, RWJUH’s New Brunswick campus serves as a national resource in its ground‐breaking approaches to emergency preparedness. RWJUH
is part of RWJ Barnabas Health and offers training programs for students and professionals. The medical center serves as a training site for surgery, vascular surgery, pathology, emergency medicine, anesthesiology,and critical care medicine. The RWJUH pharmacy department consists of 70 FTE pharmacists, 30 FTE technicians, 3 clinical specialists, 8 managers/administrators, and 2 pharmacy residents. The Drug Information Service provides a training environment for 2 Specialized Residencies in Drug Information (12 month), 1 Medical Information Fellows in partnership with Rutgers Fellowship Program and Janssen, PGY1 Pharmacy Residents from
RWJUH and RWJUH Somerset, and for P4 PharmD students on a Clinical Other 5 week APPE.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility . Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine . Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Applicants must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and must have completed at least two years of residency training or equivalent experience.Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New Jersey. Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BCPS), or other relevant board certification, is expected within two years of hire.
Certifications/Licenses This position is for a Clinical Assistant Professor with a specialty in Drug Information. The faculty will collaborate with the RWJUH clinical pharmacists and medical staff to optimize the provision of information to healthcare providers and patients within the hospital, system, state and throughout the US. The Faculty member would have an active role on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and would be expected provide education/development to medical, nursing and pharmacy staff (including pharmacy residents), serve as a preceptor and mentor within the pharmacy residency program, and assist with in special projects, medication guideline development, etc.
