| Organizational Unit Overview | It is the mission of the Department of Pediatrics, East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in pediatric medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative subspecialty care to children of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region. |
| Job Duties | The Department of Pediatrics at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. This position offers opportunities in academic, patient care, student and residency teaching, and research. The successful candidate will have experience in clinical oncology and hematology. The pediatric hematologist/oncologist will conduct patient care, teaching and research (clinical or bench) in the areas of pediatric cancer and blood disorders. He/she will work in the inpatient, day hospital, and outpatient settings. The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology has five pediatric hematologists/oncologists, one physician assistant, one nurse practitioner, an oncology pharmacist, nurse specialists, a dedicated research staff with the Pediatric Unified Research Enterprise (PURE) team, a strong psychosocial team with psychologists, child life specialists, and social workers, as well as experienced support staff. The Division is a nationally recognized and funded Hemophilia Treatment Center with a robust Hemophilia 340B pharmacy program, a state funded and nationally recognized Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center, and a member in good standing of the Children’s Oncology Group. Position is available in either Clinical Track or Tenure Track at the levels of Clinical Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Associate Professor or Clinical Professor, Professor.
