Primary Purpose: To provide administrative support to library-wide processes including supporting multiple committees. This position is welcoming and helpful, effectively routing and assisting all persons inquiring at our office.
Nature of Work: Reporting to the Administrative Coordinator, this position works directly with a diverse group of individuals including all library employees, other campus units, students, and the public. The professional image of the University Library must be presented by interacting knowledgeably and courteously with a variety of people while upholding high customer service standards. The required tasks are varied and moderately complex requiring sound judgment and the ability to prioritize. This position works collaboratively with other team members to assist in times of high volume. Continuous change, shifting priorities, and frequent interruptions are the norm. Impact of error is high as the position is responsible for ensuring day-to-day work is completed with the highest degree of accuracy. Discretion is required as the position is privy to and works with sensitive and confidential information. This position works independently, suggesting process improvements and adapting established methods and practices to solve problems with minimal guidance from the supervisor in determining appropriate actions for more complex tasks.
