The department of Office of Diversity Inclusion & Multicultural affairs has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary, Part Time Classroom Assistant to work at the UHealth Campus. The Classroom Assistant will report directly to the ODICE Program Manager of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement (ODICE). The Classroom Assistant will provide monthly one-hour educational sessions to high school students under the supervision of the Program Manager and the Miami Dade County Public Schools liaison to the Health Careers Collaborative Program participants. The Health Careers Collaborative Program provides historically minoritized high school students access to the health science field through course instruction at Booker T. Washington Senior High School. The program will commence September 2022 through April 2023.

Participate in the Health Career Collaborative Program/Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement Department Orientation

Serve as the ODICE/MDCPS liaison for the Health Career Collaborative Program

Assist with conducting monthly one-hour educational sessions for the Health Career Collaborative Program
-
Assist in recruiting medical student volunteers to assist with monthly one-hour educational sessions.

Take attendance of students at each session
-
Bring student issues/concerns to the attention of the MDCPS liaison and ODICE Program
-
Keep track of participants engagement in one-hour educational sessions
-
Evaluate students at the end of the program
-
At the conclusion of the program, commence with evaluation and assessment

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
