Job Summary: The Child Nutrition Program Assistant Manager (CNPAM) supports the CNPM in all aspects of food service and is responsible for food preparation and ensuring that clients and staff are served safe and nutritious meals.
Additional Department Summary: The Child Nutrition Program Assistant Manager (CNPAM) supports the CNPM in all aspects of food service and is responsible for food preparation and ensuring that clients and staff are served safe and nutritious meals. Responsibilities also include ensuring the food service area clean and in accordance with federal, state, and county regulations, and maintaining required paperwork. The CNPAM will work directly with the CNPM to assure the kitchen complies with guideline set forth by NSLP (National School Lunch Program) and USDA( United States Department of Agriculture). Assist with menu preparation, review lunch meal count records. Assist in supervision of the work by the Child Nutrition Program Assistants along with the Child Nutrition Program Manager.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in the food service industry. Must obtain and maintain Servsafe certification.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to lift, handle and maneuver the materials, tools and supplies of the job. May be required to work on-call in emergency situations.
Final candidates who are not current Brewer-Porch Children’s Center employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Skills and Knowledge: Computer skills and ability to learn new programs as relates to training and nutritional analysis software. Ability to work independently and with team members. Ability to cope with stressful conditions. Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative. Working knowledge of data entry and Microsoft Office. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making. Skill in organizing work to achieve clinic goals and objectives.
Excellent communication public relations, customer service and telephone etiquette skills. Ability to multi-task and work well with a team in a fast-paced work environment.
Desire to exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercise utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in client/staff interactions. Willingness to learn and consistently deliver high-quality client-friendly service. Punctuality and reliability are paramount.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a residential children center a plus; demonstrated expertise in electronic food service management and nutritional analysis programs.
