Child Care Substitute Teacher-Adjunct

The substitute teacher will lead the classroom by maintaining a high quality learning environment that meets licensing standards, and provides a student-centered environment that meets the mission and philosophy of the early childhood department.

• Provide a positive, safe, and nurturing environment for children and be able to maintain an orderly, calm environment.
• Ensure that the program conforms to health, safety, and licensing regulations, at all times.
• Follow the established lesson plan to meet the individual needs of the children, with concern for their interest, development level, talents, and individual style and pace of learning.
• Be aware and consider individual children and families in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic background.
• Treat all children and families with dignity and respect.
• Foster activities to help children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group.
• Other tasks as assigned.

• High school or equivalent

Required Certification: 

• Completed ITS-SIDS, CPR & First Aid

Required Industry Experience: 

• Two-years’ experience teaching in a preschool environment.

• A.A.S. Early Childhood Education or higher
